Your phone must support eSIM and must not be network-locked. Dial *#06#: if an EID appears, your phone supports eSIM. Check the network lock on iPhone under Settings › General › About › Network Provider Lock (“No SIM restrictions”), on Android under Settings › Connections or Network › SIM cards. A network-locked phone does not accept another provider's eSIM.

Depending on the pack, at installation of the eSIM or at the first connection at your destination; the pack shows which. So install the eSIM shortly before you travel, while you are still on Wi-Fi.

A deleted eSIM usually cannot be installed again, not even on another device; the pack is then used up. Only delete the eSIM once you no longer need it, and simply switch it off at home. If it has happened anyway, contact support.

Yes. You can buy up to 10 eSIMs per pack, one per device. All eSIMs are sent to your email address, and each person installs their eSIM on their own phone.

No. You buy a data pack here on the website, without a plan and without the app. Your eSIM arrives by email; installation, usage and top-ups are in your Phonestar account in the browser. As a Phonestar customer you can also book right in the Phonestar Connect app.

Yes. Calls with Phonestar Connect run over any data connection, including the mobile data of an eSIM bought from Phonestar. Abroad, that makes you independent of Wi-Fi and a local SIM. There are no roaming charges, because the call is routed through our server in Germany into the German network; the eSIM only carries the data, and all it uses is data volume.

Yes. Your Phonestar number is a real German mobile number, not a landline or special-rate number. Texts to that number land in the app wherever you are: codes from banks, payment services, government portals and online accounts, as well as personal messages. Whether a particular service sends texts to your number is up to that service.
